Description:

This guide describes the various stages of analysis that can help identify the cause of a phone's failure to provision itself.

Concerning provisioning, the documentation must also be observed. In the first step, you should check which provisioning type is supported by the respective telephone. For externally connected telephones, the documentation for homeoffice must also be observed.

Analysis Steps (Basis)

  1. Did the phone get an IP address?
  2. Is the IP address of the phone in the same subnetwork as the STARFACE?
  3. Is the IP address of the phone possibly listed in the STARFACE blacklist?
  4. Is the autoprovisioning active on the STARFACE?
  5. Is a MAC filter active and the MAC address still needs to be added?
  6. Does provisioning work if the path to the STARFACE is entered manually on the web interface of the phone?
  7. Is provisioning possible after the phone has been reset to factory settings?
  8. Is there a provisioning attempt in the autoprov log at log level "DEBUG"?
  9. Fanvil models only: Do the phones have access to the public IP address 119.28.67.228 of the Fanvil server?

Analysis Steps (Log Files)

In the log file with the name "Autoprov" on the STARFACE can be checked if the phone is trying to provision itself (see also Viewing Log Files on the STARFACE Web Interface). It is recommended to change the log level of the logfile to "All" to see more information.
