Selecting the Level enables selection of the error logging or messages’ detail depth. The log levels in the selection menu are arranged in a hierarchically descending order. This means that the higher level also contains the information provided at the lower levels. So, for example, all of the entries in the ERROR and FATAL categories are also saved and output in the WARN level.

Comments on using the log files

The log file displayed at present can be defined using the Display log file drop-down menu. The specification provided in the Rows entry field always refers to the last rows of the log files and must be between 1 and 999.

The activated Auto update checkbox always continuously updates the view of the selected log file automatically, so that this does not have to be done manually using the Refresh button. Using the Image Modified button, it is possible to open the currently selected log file tab in a new browser window and to use STARFACE independently of the other browser windows.

In order to send the log file, an external mail server must be entered.

The second selection option transfers all of the important STARFACE log files to STARFACE Support as a zipped file.
